Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Jackman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugh Jackman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chase Johnson! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries for a takedown but Jackman circles away easily and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jackman counters with a nice uppercut. Johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Jackman is not content to let Johnson control the position. Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackman is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold. Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jackman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jackman is trying to stand. Johnson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jackman has worked his arm free - good work by Jackman!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chase Johnson wasn't active enough on the ground. Johnson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jackman was covering up waiting for the punch and Johnson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Chase Johnson will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jackman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Jackman prevents Johnson from getting the reversal. Johnson tries to hold on but Jackman postures up. Jackman has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Johnson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Johnson tries to lock up and control but Jackman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Johnson just holding on. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson can't escape the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Johnson instigates a clinch. Johnson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jackman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt and Jackman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Jackman trying to land knees to the body.
Johnson is looking to control Jackman's arms but Jackman gets an underhook and turns him. Now Johnson has his back to the cage. Jackman ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jackman no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jackman is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Jackman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jackman is working away from the top position though. Johnson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jackman kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackman wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. Jackman controlling the action here. Jackman wants to stand but Johnson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hugh Jackman. Jackman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jackman gets tackled into the cage by Johnson. Johnson maintains the clinch. Jackman pulls guard effortlessly. Jackman keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
