Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Johnson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Legion of Doom Theme . The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Sherk! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sherk avoids a punch combination nicely.
Johnson moves to clinch but Sherk breaks away and Sherk counters with a stiff right hand. Johnson misses with a two punch combination.
Johnson rushes Sherk and presses him up against the cage. Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sherk pulls him back up using the underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Sherk's face as he tries to break the clinch. Sherk drags the fight down to the ground.
Johnson being controlled here momentarily. Sherk manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sherk sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Johnson wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sherk gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. What can Johnson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Sherk is trying to stick to Johnson's back but Johnson is turning into Sherk. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sherk's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Johnson. Johnson is breathing heavily. Johnson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Sherk is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard. Johnson wants to pass to mount but Sherk is defending the position. Sherk wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
Sherk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sherk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Johnson tries to stand and escape but Sherk is controlling the position. Johnson uses his free foot to push down on Sherk's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sherk. Johnson raining down shots from the mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherk tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sherk punching to the body and holding on for dear life. Johnson looking to land elbow strikes but Sherk uses the position to regain half guard. Johnson looks to land a strike but Sherk avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Sherk pushes Johnson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Johnson stuffs the takedown. Sherk looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Sherk shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well. Sherk misses with a body kick. Johnson closes the distance and clinches. Sherk drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Johnson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sherk looking for a takedown. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Johnson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sherk gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Sherk stalls. Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sherk has him pressed against the cage. Sherk jumps into guard, dragging Johnson to the mat.
Sherk is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sherk trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Sherk is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up. Johnson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Sherk trying to control the position here. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Sherk dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A short right from Johnson. Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnson looks to land a combination but Sherk avoids it well. Sherk fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson closes the distance looking to clinch and Sherk counters with a right hand to the body. Johnson wants to clinch. Johnson closes the distance and pushes Sherk back into the cage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sherk throws a head kick that misses. Sherk shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Sherk keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sherk ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Sherk scores with a nice strike. Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bruce Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sherk shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Sherk pushes him off. Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sherk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Johnson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sherk misses with a head kick.
Sherk closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Sherk jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Johnson walks away with a smile on his face. Sherk gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Johnson swinging wildly here.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Sherk bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sherk looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sherk dodges the punch combination from Johnson.
Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sherk circles away quickly and effectively. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sherk. Sherk throws a wild body kick that Johnson sees coming a mile off. Sherk looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to clinch but Sherk moves away and Sherk counters with a single leg into guard. Johnson didn't expect that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sherk won't allow Johnson to sweep him here. Sherk tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard. Johnson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sherk! Johnson stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Sherk has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet. Johnson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sherk counters by clinching up. Sherk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sherk shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Sherk pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Johnson back to the cage. Sherk follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Johnson moves to clinch but Sherk breaks away and Sherk moves into the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson wants to break the clinch but can't.

Sherk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sherk gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tom Sherk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Sherk changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Sherk manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Johnson tries to clinch letting Sherk counter with a right hand. Sherk tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Johnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Johnson misses with a double jab
and Sherk counters by clinching up. Sherk blocks a punch to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson darts in trying to clinch and Sherk counters by moving into the clinch. Sherk tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Johnson avoids it. Johnson manages to break the clinch.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sherk lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Johnson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Johnson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Sherk fails with a takedown attempt. Sherk moves into the clinch successfully.

And that's the end of the fight! Tom Sherk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Sherk winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
