Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Perdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perdock has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Joshua Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Perdock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joshua Jones!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perdock leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jones dives in and grabs Perdock's left leg, looking for a takedown. Perdock pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Perdock.
Brandon Perdock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Jones.
Perdock is breathing heavily.
Perdock fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Perdock misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Perdock, pushing him back against the cage.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Perdock prevents it.

Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Perdock kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Perdock postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Perdock throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Perdock has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Jones has passed into side control.
Jones wants to control but Perdock is keeping him busy.

Jones stands up and beckons Perdock to his feet.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Perdock pinned against the cage. Perdock gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Perdock clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.

Perdock escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Perdock stuffs the takedown.
Perdock misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Perdock fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.

Perdock instigates a clinch.

Jones pulls guard.
Perdock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Perdock postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jones wriggles free and stands up.

Jones takes the fight into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perdock goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jones prevents it.
Perdock tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Perdock shows good takedown defense.
Perdock shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Perdock's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Perdock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Perdock tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perdock somewhat.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Perdock is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Perdock misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Perdock avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brandon Perdock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Perdock fails with the takedown.
Perdock chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.
Perdock throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Brandon Perdock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Jones.
Jones walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Perdock checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Perdock manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Perdock is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones wants to take a breather but Perdock is having none of it.

Perdock misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jones tries to stand but can't do so whilst Perdock controls his leg.
Perdock is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones passes to full mount!
Perdock is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.

Jones get's back to his feet.
Perdock misses with a combination
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Perdock as he jumps to the side.
Perdock will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Perdock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
Perdock is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perdock but Perdock pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Perdock misses with a few strikes there.
Perdock tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perdock somewhat.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joshua Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Perdock misses with a combination
and Jones counters with a one-two to the body.
Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Perdock pinned against the cage. Perdock gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Perdock slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Perdock fails to land the takedown.

and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Perdock.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perdock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.

Jones in side control lands a decent elbow.
Perdock tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jones wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Perdock tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jones slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Perdock.
Jones breaks from Perdock's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Jones in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Perdock is trying to reverse the position but instead Jones has taken his back - oops!
I really don't envy Perdock right now.
Jones lands with a hammerfist to the side of Perdock's head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Perdock is really stuck here.
Perdock is keeping busy.
Brandon Perdock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joshua Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
