Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesse Hiller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randall Long!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Long tries to clinch
and Hiller counters with a stiff right hand.
Long gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hiller counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Hiller scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Long being controlled for a moment.

Hiller is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Long has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hiller content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Long struggling a bit here.

Hiller tries for a kimura but Long is defending well.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Long tries to improve position but can't.
Hiller throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
A lull in the action here as Hiller stalls from top position.

Hiller is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Long's half guard.
Hiller looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hiller is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Hiller counters with a nice double leg into side control. Long won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Long's face as Hiller controls the position.
Long takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Long tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hiller wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hiller wants to land a leg kick but Long is out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Hiller as he connects with a hook.

Long tries to sprawl but Hiller drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hiller content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Long kicks Hiller off and gets back to his feet.

Hiller shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hiller was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hiller breaks from Long's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Hiller has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Long's face.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hiller cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Long wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Hiller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Long can do to turn this around?
Hiller lands shots from the back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Hiller's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

I really don't envy Long right now.
Hiller scores with punches to the body.
Hiller lands a shot to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Hiller. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Hiller shoots in and gets a takedown into Long's guard.
Long is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Long has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hiller can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Long can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hiller controls the pace.
Long looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hiller controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Jesse Hiller wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Hiller shoots in and gets a takedown into Long's guard.
Hiller working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Long's head.
Hiller scoring with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hiller not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hiller has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hiller seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Long for as long as he can get away with.

Hiller shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Long manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Hiller got a little sloppy there for a moment and Long has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hiller has managed to get both his arms back between Long's legs - danger averted.

Long is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Hiller shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Long napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hiller is staying tight to Long's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Hiller wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Long, who protects the arm well.

Hiller thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
