Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Murtagh Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandre Barao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawke's entrance music is Sleep Now In The Fire. A fine choice. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Hawke putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Barao manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Barao, under a barage of strikes from Hawke.
Hawke throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Hawke tries to stand but his arm is trapped. The fighters are battling for position here. Barao manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hawke postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hawke throws a big right hand that misses. Hawke working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Barao is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hawke wants to get up but he can't break Barao's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Barao keeping moving, preventing Hawke from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawke trying to stand up but can't free himself from Barao's guard. Hawke lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hawke avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barao looks gassed! Hawke landing strikes, looking to finish! Barao regains half guard. Hawke wants to stand up but Barao is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hawke. Hawke decides to take the fight back to the feet. Hawke looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hawke wants to pass to mount but Barao is defending the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hawke thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hawke postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Barao to stand up. Hawke shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barao's guard. Hawke wants to stand but Barao has a closed guard, so he can't escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barao is not content to let Hawke control the position. Hawke tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Hawke stands up. Barao is breathing heavily.

Hawke with the ground and pound but Barao uses the opportunity to regain guard. Hawke is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Barao keeping moving, preventing Hawke from controlling successfully. Hawke wants to stand and escape but instead Barao has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Barao looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barao is one step ahead there. Hawke is trying to keep Barao in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Barao loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Barao trying to control but Hawke is working from the bottom. Barao drops back looking for a leg! Hawke is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hawke manages to kick Barao off! Barao jumps back into Hawke's guard. Barao stops Hawke from standing up. Barao passes Hawke's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hawke is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Barao trying to mount his opponent but Hawke defends it. Hawke is looking to improve his position.
Hawke is trying is best to control the position here. Hawke tries to get to full guard but Barao has control of the leg. Barao is looking to advance position but Hawke won't allow it. Hawke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barao on the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hawke wants to control but Barao is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hawke wants to get back to his feet.

Murtagh Hawke dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Barao takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Barao preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hawke landing some decent shots from guard. Barao has his foot on Hawke's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hawke works his way back into a safe position though. Hawke wants to stand but Barao has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Hawke looking to pass the guard.

Murtagh Hawke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hawke lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hawke stands up from Barao's guard - Hawke perhaps looking for a knockout. Hawke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hawke wants to stand but Barao has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Barao is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hawke defends well. Hawke trying to stand up but can't free himself from Barao's guard. Hawke content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that's the end of the fight! Murtagh Hawke showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hawke has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
