Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Beau Neurs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Melvin Saddleman! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saddleman misses with a wild body shot. Saddleman throws a right hand that Neurs ducks under and follows up with a left that Neurs also avoids with ease. Saddleman throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Neurs tumbling to the canvas!
Neurs is rocked! Neurs is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Oh Neurs is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saddleman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Saddleman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Saddleman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Neurs seems to have got his legs back now. Neurs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Neurs trying to strike off his back.
Neurs wants to sweep here but Saddleman controlling him for the moment. Saddleman postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Neurs tries to clinch but Saddleman moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saddleman tries to clinch there but Neurs circles away.
Neurs avoids the body shot from Saddleman.
Neurs wants to clinch up but Saddleman keeps it at a distance. Neurs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Saddleman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Saddleman is looking for a sweep. Saddleman is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Neurs's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Saddleman looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Saddleman is looking to escape. Saddleman tries to roll over but Neurs keeps him under control. Neurs not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Saddleman looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Saddleman looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saddleman won't allow Neurs to pass to mount.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Saddleman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Neurs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Saddleman is fending him off so far but Neurs persists. Nope, Saddleman circles away and we're back to standing. Neurs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saddleman swats him away and circles back towards the center. Neurs fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Saddleman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Neurs. Saddleman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Neurs misses with a takedown attempt - Saddleman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Beau Neurs. That's going to take a lot out of him. No joy there for Saddleman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Saddleman throws a right and a left that Neurs avoids nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neurs defending well as Saddleman loads up on a big left hand. Saddleman misses with the combination.
Saddleman looks to land a right hand but Neurs moved out of range. Saddleman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Neurs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Saddleman moves away. Saddleman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Neurs scores with a takedown into Saddleman's guard. Neurs won't allow Saddleman to sweep him here. Saddleman controls Neurs momentarily but Neurs frees himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saddleman is on top in guard.
Saddleman stands and throws Neurs's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neurs regains half guard there - taking advantage of Saddleman's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Saddleman trying to mount his opponent but Neurs defends it. Saddleman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Saddleman seems to be working for a kimura but Neurs defends the submission attempt. Neurs is staying active underneath Saddleman, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Neurs is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neurs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saddleman sprawls well initially but Neurs persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Saddleman trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Neurs manages to pass to mount!
Neurs prevents Saddleman from getting the reversal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saddleman throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Neurs scoring with strikes but Saddleman is staying in there. Neurs fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Saddleman really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
A nice elbow there by Neurs. Neurs sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Saddleman is trying desperately to improve position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neurs with good strikes from the mount here! Neurs lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Saddleman tries to hold on but Neurs pushes him away. Neurs thowing shots but they're missing. Saddleman working to try and regain half guard.
Saddleman slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Neurs throwing shots but Saddleman is blocking nicely. Neurs misses with a head shot. Saddleman uses the momentum to regain guard. Neurs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saddleman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Neurs thows a big elbow that misses. Saddleman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Neurs preventing the sweep. Saddleman looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Neurs passes into half guard.
Saddleman wants to get back to full guard. Saddleman is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Neurs pulls his head out easily. Saddleman gets back to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saddleman is on top in guard.
