The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
st nkoi lands a head shot.

Van Helgen moves into range and clinches up with st nkoi.
st nkoi is working for takedown but Van Helgen is calmly controlling the position for now.
st nkoi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Van Helgen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Van Helgen breaks from the clinch.
Van Helgen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Van Helgen has taken the fight to the clinch.

Van Helgen is trying to break the clinch but st nkoi has him pressed against the cage.

It looks like Edward Van Helgen has been cut.

A frustrated look appears on Van Helgen's face as he tries to break the clinch.

and st nkoi counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
st nkoi is thwarting Van Helgen's attempts to control the position.

Van Helgen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
st nkoi is nestled in close to Van Helgen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

st nkoi is trying to work for a kimura but Van Helgen is defending well.
Van Helgen throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and st nkoi manages to pass to side control.

st nkoi is trying to get an arm triangle but Van Helgen is defending well.

st nkoi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no st nkoi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

st nkoi drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. st nkoi seems to have locked his on tight now - Van Helgen screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for st nkoi, as he picks up the win!
