Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julian Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanji Yokohama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valdez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is so amazing. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sanji Yokohama!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valdez feints and as Yokohama raises his hands in defense, Valdez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Valdez working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Yokohama's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Valdez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Valdez is looking to work some ground and pound but Yokohama has wrist control.
Valdez postures up and lands a big shot to Yokohama's brow.
Yokohama looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valdez is one step ahead there.

Yokohama looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Valdez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Yokohama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valdez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yokohama is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Valdez scores with a couple of nice shots.
Valdez winds up and cracks Yokohama with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Yokohama has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Valdez doesn't defend quickly enough and Yokohama has managed to lock this one up! Can Valdez escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Yokohama on a fantastic submission victory.
