PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Brow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robertson comes to the ring accompanied by State of the union by Rise Against. Brow is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Cool Kids "So Neat". These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leroy Brow!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Brow. Those never looked like landing.
Robertson tries a low kick but Brow avoids it.

and Robertson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Brow tries to close the distance and clinch but Robertson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Robertson is trying to maintain a safe position but Brow gets an underhook and turns Robertson into the ropes.

Brow lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Brow.

Good leg kick by Brow there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Brow counters with a big head kick but Robertson shrugs it off.

and Robertson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Brow's knee momentarily.

Robertson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Robertson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Brow blocks it with crossed arms.

Robertson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Brow clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Robertson doesn't have the hooks in and Brow manages to turn into his guard.
Robertson is looking to stand up but Brow isn't so interested in that idea.
Brow seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Robertson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brow is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Josh Robertson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Robertson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Brow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robertson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Leroy Brow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Brow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Josh Robertson is winning the standup battle so far.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Robertson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Brow - the referee stops the clock and Robertson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Brow. Robertson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brow pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Robertson misses with a series of wild punches.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Robertson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Brow has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Brow and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brow throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Brow thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Robertson if he has to take too many more of those.

Brow's corner calls for a 1-2. Brow obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Robertson motions for Brow to come forward. Robertson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Robertson throws a hook to the side of Brow's head but Brow sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nice uppercut lands for Brow. That snapped Robertson's head back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Leroy Brow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brow has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
