Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Daniel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lord Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Daniel has taken the fight to the clinch.
Daniel goes for a takedown in the clinch but Vader prevents it.
Daniel has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vader avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Vader has Daniel pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Daniel manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

and Vader decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Daniel's guard.
Vader prevents Daniel from getting back to his feet.
Daniel wants to sweep but no luck.

Daniel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vader defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Daniel wants to get back to his feet.
Daniel wants to improve his position but Vader is controlling well.
Vader wants to take a breather but Daniel is having none of it.
Daniel is trying to stand up here but Vader is controlling him well.
Daniel moves into full guard.
Vader looking to sit in guard and control but Daniel gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Daniel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vader works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Daniel slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Vader has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Daniel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Daniel wants to control from the top but Vader keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Daniel is looking to work some ground and pound but Vader has wrist control.
Daniel seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan Daniel wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Daniel doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Vader counters with a single leg into guard. Daniel didn't expect that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Daniel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daniel throws a nice elbow from the bottom.

Vader avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Daniel looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vader has picked Daniel up and slammed him! Daniel can't keep hold of the triangle and Vader manages to pass to side control!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Lord Vader will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and Vader counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Daniel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vader doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vader manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Daniel pushes Vader off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Daniel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vader moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Vader stuffs the takedown attempt from Daniel. Daniel gets slowly back to his feet.
Daniel avoids the head kick by Vader.
Sloppy strikes from Vader. Those never looked like landing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vader shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Daniel but Daniel pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Daniel closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vader did well to prevent Daniel getting side control.
Vader is trying to maintain the position but Daniel is very close to passing his half guard.

Daniel maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Vader could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Daniel has cracked it and Vader is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Daniel!
