PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carwin has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Quinton Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Carwin!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a nice outside leg kick.
Carwin looks gassed!
Jackson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Jackson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jackson feints a jab promting Carwin to slip. Jackson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Carwin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jackson sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Carwin to the ground! Jackson dives into full mount looking to finish!


Carwin is rocked!


It looks like Shane Carwin has been cut.
Carwin avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jackson.
Jackson throws some wild stikes that Carwin manages to avoid easily.
Jackson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Jackson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Carwin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Carwin is looking to escape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Carwin tries to lock up and control but Jackson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Jackson is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Jackson dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jackson lands with a big left! Carwin is wobbled badly! Jackson comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Carwin to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Quinton Jackson!
