Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Cones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Evan Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a head kick that half lands.
Cones swings for the body but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson tries a head kick but it misses.
Cones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cones avoids the head kick by Jackson.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson throws a head kick but Cones moves out of range.
Jackson connects with a high kick.
Jackson misses with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Cones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Cones getting side control.

Cones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jackson for as long as he can get away with.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Cones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cones is in Jackson's guard.

Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cones controls the pace.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cones's guard.

Cones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jackson defends well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jackson.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Cones moves out of range easily.

Jackson throws a looping overhand right but Cones ducks down to avoid it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Cones will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Jackson lands with a kick to the temple. Cones shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Cones avoids the head kick by Jackson.
Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Cones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jackson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Jackson stuffs the takedown attempt from Cones. Cones gets slowly back to his feet.

Jackson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Jackson scores with a head kick. Cones tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cones tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Evan Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
