Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Mott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Gracie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Mott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Gracie! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mott feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mott passes easily into side control. Nice work. Mott is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mott throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Mott wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Mott fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Mott. Mott in side control lands a decent elbow. Mott is trying to get an arm triangle but Gracie is defending well. Mott working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Mott tries for a kimura but Gracie is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie is looking for a sweep. Mott controls the position. Mott has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mott throwing shots but missing, from side control. Gracie is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mott has just dragged him back down to the mat. Gracie is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mott connects with a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Mott fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Mott is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Mott trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom. Mott is putting a hurting on Gracie here, landing some big shots from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mott looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gracie is avoiding damage well.
Gracie prevents Mott from moving into mount. Mott is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Excellent takedown into side control there by Mott. Mott controlling the position from side mount. Gracie tries to buck Mott off but Mott is having none of it. Mott wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Mott in side control, just content to control the action for now. Mott's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
