The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesnar gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Houliokagava tries to clinch but Lesnar moves away
letting Lesnar counter with a right hand.
Houliokagava gets tackled into the cage by Lesnar. Lesnar maintains the clinch.
Houliokagava jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lesnar walks away with a smile on his face. Houliokagava gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Houliokagava shoots and misses
and Lesnar counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Houliokagava is trying to control but can't.
Houliokagava tries to kick Lesnar off but Lesnar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lesnar looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Lesnar is pressing down on Houliokagava's thigh, looking to free his foot. Houliokagava is holding on for now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lesnar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lesnar content to control rather than advance.

Lesnar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Houliokagava defends it well.
Well, if Lesnar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brock Lesnar wasn't active enough on the ground.
Houliokagava wants to clinch but Lesnar slips to the side
and Lesnar counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Houliokagava goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Lesnar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Houliokagava lands a head kick!
Lesnar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Houliokagava can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lesnar controls the pace.
Lesnar forces his way into half guard.
Houliokagava is breathing heavily.

Lesnar is taking a breather. Houliokagava says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Brock Lesnar.
Houliokagava moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Lesnar instigates a clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lesnar breaks the clinch.
Houliokagava lands a jab to the nose.
Lesnar clinches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Houliokagava is bucking up trying to escape but Lesnar cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Houliokagava knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lesnar on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
