Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between BJ Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Karte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, BJ Styles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Karte! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Styles tries to close the distance and clinch up but Karte swats him away and circles back towards the center. Karte lands a high kick!
Styles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Karte manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Styles tries to clinch but Karte moves out of range. A shot to the body from Karte misses and Styles counters with a left to the body. Karte slaps away a takedown attempt from Styles, before circling back to the center of the mat. Styles misses with a takedown attempt - Karte sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Styles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karte paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick from Karte lands but Styles takes it in his stride. Karte slaps away a takedown attempt from Styles, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Styles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Karte swats away the attempt to clinch by Styles. Styles misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Styles tries to clinch but Karte is having none of it. Styles thows a left - swing and a miss! Styles shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Karte but Karte pushes him off and we're back to square one. Styles tries to clinch there but Karte circles away.
Karte throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karte circles away from the clinch attempt and Styles takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. BJ Styles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karte throws a lazy head kick and Styles counters with a head kick. That will keep Karte thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Styles is trying hard to land a takedown here. Karte sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Styles fails with an attempt to clinch.

Styles tries to clinch up and Karte counters with a head kick. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Styles changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Karte tries to avoid it but Styles manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Karte to the ground. Karte escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that BJ Styles will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nice defenses there by Styles. Dan Karte is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Karte throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Styles shoots for a takedown but Karte saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Styles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Styles darts in trying to clinch and Karte counters with a head kick. That will keep Styles thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karte misses with a right hand and Styles counters with a shoot takedown. Karte fights it but they end up in guard. Karte is breathing heavily. Styles prevents Karte from getting back to his feet. Styles trying to control the position from guard on top but Karte is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Karte wants to stand but Styles is controlling the position. Styles thows a big elbow that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Styles working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Styles throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Karte works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Styles trying to stand up but can't free himself from Karte's guard. Karte working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Styles. Styles is standing up over Karte. Karte looks to escape but Styles dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Styles is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Karte has escaped the position, nice work there. Styles tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Styles has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Styles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Styles trying to control the position but Karte is working away. Karte bucks up and tries to throw Styles off but instead Styles has got his back! Styles lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Karte hold on?!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
BJ Styles dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Styles wants to clinch up but Karte keeps it at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Styles lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Karte circles away quickly and effectively. Styles is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Styles stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Styles shoots in but no luck this time. Karte tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Karte takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Styles looks for a takedown but Karte sprawls well. Styles shoots in for a takedown but Karte shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Dan Karte has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Styles. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Styles counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Styles tries to clinch up. Styles wants to clinch. Karte throws a poor cross that misses
and Styles counters with a three punch combo that has Karte backing up. Karte nods at Styles to acknowledge the strikes. Styles shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Karte sprawls well. Karte wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Styles gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Styles shoots in but Karte avoids the takedown attempt easily. Styles fails in his attempt to clinch. Styles is looking to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Styles shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Karte defends it nicely. Karte swats away the attempt to clinch by Styles. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Styles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Karte as he avoids it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! BJ Styles showed his dominance in that final round. Well Styles has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
