Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Rogerio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Rogerio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Daniels! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogerio but Rogerio pushes him off and we're back to square one. Daniels bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Daniels wants to control but Rogerio is keeping him busy. Rogerio pushes Daniels away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Daniels gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Rogerio on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Rogerio prevents Daniels from improving position. Rogerio tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Rogerio is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Daniels is controlling him well. Daniels grinds an elbow into Rogerio's temple. Rogerio is trying to control Daniels's posture but Daniels avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rogerio tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Daniels wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Daniels slows the pace down. Daniels is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rogerio has escaped the position, nice work there. Rogerio sneaks back into half guard. Daniels is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rogerio defends it well. Daniels tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rogerio knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Daniels missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Daniels wants to pass the guard but Rogerio is defending well. Daniels trying to control the action but Rogerio is working from the bottom. Rogerio is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Well, if Daniels is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rogerio does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Rogerio tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Daniels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rogerio keeps working.
Jack Daniels has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Rogerio looks to land a combination but Daniels avoids it well. Jack Daniels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rogerio has Daniels up against the cage in a clinch.
Daniels looking for a takedown. Rogerio pulls guard effortlessly. Rogerio is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Daniels stops Rogerio from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rogerio can't keep his opponent in guard - Daniels advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Daniels is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rogerio pushes Daniels off looking to stand but Daniels dives back in and keeps control.
Rogerio tries to roll over but Daniels keeps him under control. Rogerio is trying to maintain the position but Daniels is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Daniels dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rogerio as he jumps to the side. Rogerio closes the distance and clinches up with Daniels, looking for a takedown. Rogerio pushes Daniels against the cage but Daniels circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Daniels shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Rogerio is trying to stand.
Daniels working the head and body with strikes. Rogerio has one foot on Daniels's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Rogerio misses with a double jab.
Daniels throws a series of punches but Rogerio moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Rogerio misses. Rogerio lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Daniels circles away quickly and effectively. Rogerio tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rogerio closes the distance but Daniels moves to the side and Daniels counters with a takedown into side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rogerio is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Daniels asserts his dominance and retains side control. Rogerio wants to get back to his feet but Daniels is dominant here and he's now got Rogerio's back! Rogerio defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
You can see the frustration on Rogerio's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rogerio manages to reverse the position and now he's in Daniels's guard. Nice work there by Rogerio.
Rogerio is looking to stand up but Daniels won't let him. Daniels had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rogerio defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogerio trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom. Daniels manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniels moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rogerio has worked his arm free - good work by Rogerio!
Daniels has knee on belly and moves into mount. Daniels is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rogerio has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rogerio! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rogerio accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rogerio in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Daniels is trying to keep Rogerio in close.
Rogerio postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Daniels avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rogerio wanted to stand there but Daniels had control of the position. Daniels bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rogerio's guard. Daniels is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Rogerio has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Daniels is looking to defend but Rogerio has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Daniels! Rogerio pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Daniels taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Antonio Rogerio!
