Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Seppo Karkkola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenneth Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Seppo Karkkola has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Seppo Karkkola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kenneth Lucas!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karkkola throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Karkkola swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Lucas counters with a nice uppercut.
Karkkola throws a combination that misses
and Lucas counters with a straight right hand.
Lucas looks gassed!
Karkkola throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lucas.
A solid body kick from Lucas.
Karkkola misses with a combination

and Lucas counters by clinching up.

Karkkola turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Karkkola throws a strike aimed at the side of Lucas's head but Lucas avoids it well.
Karkkola throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Lucas works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Lucas flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Lucas has hold of Karkkola's hands but Karkkola slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Karkkola missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Karkkola not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Karkkola thows a huge punch but Lucas dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lucas wants to control but Karkkola is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lucas gets full guard.
Karkkola loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Lucas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karkkola can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Karkkola accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Lucas has his foot on Karkkola's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Karkkola works his way back into a safe position though.

Lucas has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Karkkola should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lucas has tightened it up now! Karkkola should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kenneth Lucas!
