With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juan Roman Riquelme!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Riquelme cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rivers looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Riquelme scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Riquelme tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rivers paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Riquelme fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rivers, pushing him back against the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Riquelme.
Rivers takes an elbow to the forehead.
Riquelme lands an elbow that stopped Rivers in his tracks for a moment.

Riquelme tries to land a knee to the head but Rivers blocks with his arms.

Riquelme bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Riquelme wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rivers keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well Riquelme has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
