Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cardinal Richelieu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Silverman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Cardinal Richelieu has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silverman misses with a hook.

and Silverman counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Richelieu!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silverman is working for a guillotine from mount but Richelieu frees his head quite easily.
Silverman wants to control the pace but Richelieu is squirming around nicely.
Silverman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Richelieu kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Richelieu is desperately trying to improve his position but Silverman has a good base and remains in mount.
Silverman wants to finish this one by submission but Richelieu is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Silverman.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cardinal Richelieu.
