Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Rotten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monk comes into the arena with My Ding-a-ling blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marcus Monk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Rotten! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rotten looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Monk tries to close the distance and clinch but Rotten swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Monk staying out of range there. Rotten throws a sloppy head kick and Monk counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A left and a right from Monk both land. Nice combination. Rotten tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Monk was well out of range. Poor timing from Rotten. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Monk misses with a lunging right hand
and Rotten counters with a head kick. Rotten throws a right hand that misses
and Monk counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Monk closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Monk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rotten was well out of range. Poor timing from Monk.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rotten is looking to clinch. Rotten has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Monk. Rotten tries to clinch but Monk moves out of range. Monk misses with a low kick.
A head kick misses from Monk. Rotten throws the left hand but Monk avoids the punch easily. Rotten stuns Monk with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Monk has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rotten finds it's way round the side to connect with Monk's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monk misses with a two punch combination.
Monk looks to score with a jab to the body but Rotten is just out of range. Monk takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rotten throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Rotten decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Monk's guard. Rotten stopping the sweep attempt from Monk. Rotten controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rotten postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Rotten in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rotten trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rotten loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rotten must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rotten with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rotten accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Monk avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Monk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rotten. Monk keeping moving, preventing Rotten from controlling successfully. Rotten drops back, looking for a kneebar! Monk looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Monk looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Monk! Rotten is trying to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny Rotten dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Monk lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Rotten misses with a hook to the body
and Monk counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rotten throws a looping overhand right but Monk ducks down to avoid it. A telegraphed right hand from Rotten misses the target. Monk circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A low kick from Monk misses and Monk takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Rotten throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Monk counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head kick misses from Rotten. The fight moves into the clinch position. Monk tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Rotten tries to work over Monk's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Rotten tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Good body shot from Monk.

Both guys are working to get underhooks. Rotten throws a punch but it's blocked by Monk. Rotten lands a body shot in the clinch.
Monk just leaning against Rotten, taking a breather. Rotten managing to block the knees to the body from Monk.
Rotten lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Rotten lands an elbow just above Monk 's eye. Monk misses with a shot to the kidneys.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monk tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Monk throws a head punch that misses. Rotten struggles to land a body shot inside as Monk controls his hands.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Rotten manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Rotten wants to stall.
Rotten doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Monk works on Rotten's body with a couple of short punches. Monk stalling.
Rotten wants to stall.
Monk misses with some punches.
Monk presses Rotten against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Rotten is looking to control Monk's arms but Monk gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rotten has his back to the cage. Rotten missing with knees to the body.
Rotten escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monk steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rotten. Monk connects with a solid leg kick. Rotten misses with a takedown and Monk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Good exchange - Monk coming out on top. A head kick by Rotten misses and Monk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Monk ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rotten moves away. Monk throws out a loose jab but Rotten uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rotten slips a jab and a cross from Monk.
Rotten wants to clinch up but Monk keeps it at a distance. Rotten tries to clinch but Monk is having none of it. Monk falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Rotten to counter with a crisp jab. Rotten tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Monk swivels and escapes. A punch combination from Monk misses. Monk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rotten was well out of range. Poor timing from Monk. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Monk dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Rotten uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Monk. Monk throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rotten stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Monk throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rotten counters with a head kick. Rotten tries to land a body kick and Monk counters with a lovely shot to the body. A head kick by Rotten misses and Monk counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nice defenses there by Rotten. Monk swings and misses with a shot to the body and Monk takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Monk has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rotten digs a good body shot into Monk's ribs. A punch combination from Monk misses. Rotten tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Monk manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A shot to the liver by Monk. Beautiful body shot. Rotten shoots in for a takedown but Monk shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Monk just misses with a punch to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monk scores with a punch to the head. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rotten checks a leg kick. Monk feints and then cracks Rotten's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Rotten down. Rotten misses the jab. Monk throws out a leg kick but Rotten moves out of range and Monk only half commits. Rotten looks to land a body kick but Monk moved away. Rotten walks into a left hand. Rotten takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rotten wants to clinch and Monk counters with a slapping leg kick. Rotten bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Rotten is looking to clinch but Monk is avoiding it.
Monk circles away from the clinch attempt and Rotten takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Monk showed his dominance in that final round. I think Monk has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
