Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zack Nery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake St Croix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake St Croix is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zack Nery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake St Croix! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nery shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nery showed some decent athleticism there. Nery working the head and body with strikes. Nery trying to control from half guard but St Croix is working away. Nery has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. St Croix misses with some strikes from the bottom.
St Croix lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. St Croix tries to roll over but Nery keeps him under control. St Croix wants to get back to full guard but Nery has mounted him! St Croix trying to punch from the bottom. They're landing but they're really not going to hurt Nery. Nery takes St Croix's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.
Nery has the hooks in. St Croix is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Nery is punishing St Croix with strikes - can he finish him?! St Croix wants to escape the position.
St Croix is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nery trying to control momentarily.
St Croix really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nery. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. St Croix tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! St Croix throws a strike from the bottom but Nery uses the opportunity to take his back. St Croix is in bad spot here.
Nery has his arm under St Croix's chin here. Game over son! Nery squeezes tightly and St Croix is forced to tap out!
