Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Wiley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tora Ropez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ropez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ambrosia. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Wiley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tora Ropez! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wiley avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ropez tries to clinch but Wiley is having none of it. Wiley misses with a combination
and Ropez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Wiley tries to close the distance and clinch but Ropez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ropez moves into the clinch. Wiley has Ropez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ropez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Wiley jumps guard.
Wiley lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ropez! Wiley thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Ropez is trying to stand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wiley trying to control but Ropez is having none of it. Wiley is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ropez is surviving well by controlling Wiley's body position as best he can. Ropez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wiley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ropez is trying to stand but he's just given Wiley his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ropez has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Wiley looking for the choke from the back. Wiley looking for the choke but no joy. Ropez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wiley gets his way!
That's three minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here.
Wiley is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ropez looking very determined here, making life difficult for Wiley.

Wiley working for the choke. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ropez staying busy and making it hard for Wiley to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonathan Wiley dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Ropez is looking to clinch but Wiley is avoiding it.

Ropez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wiley moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Ropez closes the distance and clinches. Wiley works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Ropez is looking to stand up but Wiley isn't so interested in that idea. Wiley wants to pass the guard but Ropez is keeping the position. Ropez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wiley is controlling him. Wiley passes Ropez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wiley performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Wiley tries to pass to full mount but Ropez defends it. Wiley missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ropez can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wiley trying to control from half guard but Ropez is working away. Ropez is trying to escape back to his feet but Wiley uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Wiley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ropez has escaped the position, nice work there. Ropez is not content to let Wiley control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wiley is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ropez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ropez keeps the fight on the outside. Ropez slips a jab and a cross from Wiley.
Ropez works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Wiley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ropez forces Wiley back against the cage and clinches. Wiley stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wiley manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Wiley trying to strike off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wiley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wiley has a closed guard, preventing Ropez from standing up. Wiley controls Ropez momentarily but Ropez frees himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ropez wants to stand and escape but instead Wiley has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonathan Wiley dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Wiley looks for the body kick but Ropez saw that one coming. Ropez wants to clinch. Wiley drives through with a takedown into guard. Wiley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ropez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wiley wants to control from the top but Ropez keeps moving. Wiley won't allow Ropez to get back to his feet. Wiley passes Ropez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wiley is looking to take a break and control but Ropez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ropez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Wiley passes to side control. Wiley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ropez, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wiley trying to control the action but Ropez is working from the bottom. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Ropez pushes Wiley away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Wiley gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Wiley has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wiley is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Ropez is in real trouble.
Ropez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ropez covering up well under a barage of strikes. Wiley has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ropez has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Ropez is trying to defend against the choke here but Wiley has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Wiley Tightens the hold and Ropez taps out furiously! Wiley displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
