Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Gailfus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kaleb Cole! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danga de danga de dang - Cole scores with a four punch combination! Cole misses with a takedown attempt and Gailfus counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Gailfus gets a takedown into half guard. Cole is looking to control Gailfus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cole avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cole wants to sweep but Gailfus has passed to side control! Gailfus looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cole is avoiding damage well.
Gailfus scores with punches from side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Gailfus really is a fat lump. Cole takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gailfus has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Cole! Gailfus controlling from the full mount. Cole tries to improve his position but instead Gailfus has taken his back! Cole staying busy and making it hard for Gailfus to control. Gailfus throwing damaging strikes from the back! Cole could be in trouble here!
Gailfus is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Cole knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Cole for a finish. Cole is really stuck here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Gailfus is now in side control. Gailfus is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cole has escaped the position, nice work there. Gailfus lands some shots froms side control. Cole is looking for a sweep. Gailfus tries for a kimura but Cole is defending well. Gailfus advances to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole wants to hold on but Gailfus pushes him away. Cole tries to control the position but Gailfus now has his back.
Gailfus gets his hands free as Cole looks to control. I would not like to be Cole right now.
Gailfus throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Gailfus is landing with strikes from the back. Cole has hold of Gailfus's leg, trying to break free but it's let Gailfus lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Cole is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Gailfus throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
