Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Brown!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Riley!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Riley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Brown drops Riley with a beautiful combination! Riley stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Brown is looking for the KO!

It looks like James Riley has been cut.
Riley shoots and misses

and Brown decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Riley's guard.
Riley is still in real trouble! Can Brown finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Brown drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brown jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Brown counters with a nice double leg into side control. Riley won't be happy with that.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Riley can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
