Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Chruck Riddel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Ricardo Jones! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riddel throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut. Riddel falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Jones counter with a right hand. A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Riddel does a little dance to reset his feet. Riddel misses with a combination
and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Riddel finds it's way round the side to connect with Jones's head. Riddel lands a jab to the nose. Good shot there by Riddel. Jones throws a big shot that misses. Riddel throws a combination that misses and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Riddel throws an off balance right hand
and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Riddel walks into a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Riddel misses with a double jab
and Jones decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Riddel's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riddel trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
Riddel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there. Jones pushing down on Riddel's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Riddel keeping hold of Jones's head, controlling as best he can. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Riddel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Riddel tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones trying to control from half guard but Riddel is working away. Jones is just content to waste time from the top position. Riddel takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Jones looking to pass the guard. Jones prevents Riddel from getting back to his feet. Riddel is adopting a defensive guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riddel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.
Jones has control of Riddel's left arm, preventing Riddel from doing any damage. Riddel working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Riddel trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jones keeping moving, preventing Riddel from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Riddel won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones avoids the body shot from Riddel.
Jones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Danga de danga de dang - Riddel scores with a four punch combination! Riddel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Jones dodges the punch combination from Riddel.
Riddel falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a takedown into side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Riddel stops Jones from passing to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Jones dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Riddel misses with a double jab
and Jones counters with a nice body shot. Jones has his takedown stuffed and Riddel counters with a nice uppercut. Jones drops his hands momentarily and Riddel takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Riddel throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.

and Jones counters with a takedown into side control. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riddel keeps working. Jones has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Riddel! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Riddel bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Jones has his feet on Riddel's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. A left lands for Riddel. Jones jabs at Riddel's body. Riddel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand! Riddel swings and misses with a shot to the body and Jones counters with a stiff right hand. Riddel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jones counters with a right hand to the body. Riddel takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ricardo Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Riddel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Riddel dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Riddel throws a lazy uppercut
and Jones counters with a lovely shot to the body. Jones misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Riddel counters with a straight right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riddel throws an off balance right hand
and Jones counters with an inside leg kick. Riddel misses with a left hand enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Riddel misses with a combination
and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones looking to pass the guard. Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jones stands up from Riddel's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riddel throws a combination that misses and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jones checks a leg kick nicely. Riddel looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Riddel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Riddel throws a combination that misses and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Riddel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Riddel dives on top into guard. Riddel looking to pass the guard. Riddel tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom. Riddel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Riddel drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones! Riddel is not content to let Jones control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Riddel tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!

Riddel can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Jones trying to pass the guard but Riddel defending well. Riddel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Riddel moves into full guard.
Riddel manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Riddel is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Jones has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Jones! Jones slips nicely into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riddel trying to control from the bottom.

Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Riddel tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg. Riddel works his way to full guard. Good work. Chruck Riddel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Riddel keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Riddel is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Riddel has escaped and now he's on top! Riddel trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones looking to control.
Riddel postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricardo Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
