Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Robby Hatton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dylan Mills! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hatton clobbers Mills with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Mills ducks right into an uppercut from Hatton. Robby Hatton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hatton throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Hatton with a hook. Hatton throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Mills doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hatton counters with a nice body shot. Hatton lands with a hook. Mills tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Hatton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hatton scores with the left hand. Mills knows he should have avoided that one. Hatton cracks Mills with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Mills takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Mills slips a jab and a cross from Hatton.
Mills shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hatton counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hatton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mills circles away quickly and effectively. Hatton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hatton bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mills's head backwards. Mills keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hatton. Hatton takes a swing at Mills's ribcage but misses. Mills walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Jab, jab by Hatton - just one landing. Mills misses with a takedown and Hatton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Robby Hatton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dylan Mills. Mills scores a takedown into full mount! Mills in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Hatton tries to reverse the position but Mills maintains control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mills raining down hammerfists from mount. Mills landing strikes, looking to finish! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mills unloading with bombs! Mills raining down hammerfists from mount. Mills is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hatton tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mills working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Hatton turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Mills off and cradles Hatton's limp body as Mills celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Dylan Mills!
