Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diosdado Durante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Cockren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Diosdado Durante!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Cockren!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durante throws a shot from downtown. Cockren moves away and avoids it.
Nice takedown defense from Durante. No joy for Cockren on that attempt.
Durante scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cockren in his tracks.
Durante rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cockren moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Cockren counters with a shoot takedown. Durante fights it but they end up in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Durante is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Cockren will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cockren closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Durante lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cockren has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cockren and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cockren accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Horrible takedown by Cockren or perhaps it was just good defense by Durante which made him look bad.

Jon Cockren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Durante pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cockren is out of range and Durante settles back down.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Durante enables Cockren to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Durante manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Diosdado Durante.
I think Cockren has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
