The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lao bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lao throws a series of strikes that have McGillivary backpedaling.
Lao misses with a few strikes there.
McGillivary keeps the fight on the outside.
Nice body kick there by Lao.
McGillivary has his takedown stuffed
and Lao counters with a head kick. That will keep McGillivary thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Lao lands with a nice combination. McGillivary backs away looking to recover.
McGillivary tries for a takedown but Lao circles away easily
and Lao counters with a thumping low kick.
McGillivary is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McGillivary is working an open guard so Lao takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
McGillivary misses with a takedown
and Lao counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. McGillivary is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark McGillivary. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lao lands a left and a right that send McGillivary crashing to the mat, dazed. Lao thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
McGillivary is rocked!
Lao seems to be stalking McGillivary here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastatic head kick! McGillivary drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!
