Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eves Deuda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eves Deuda has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jim Johnson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eves Deuda! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deuda looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Deuda escapes and gets back to his feet. Deuda clinches up against the cage. Deuda manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Johnson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Johnson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Deuda is keeping the position for now. Johnson wanted to stand there but Deuda had control of the position. Johnson stands and throws Deuda's legs to the side, diving into side control. Deuda tries to buck Johnson off but Johnson is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deuda should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Johnson trying to control the position but Deuda is working away. Deuda manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Deuda keeps working. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Johnson wasn't doing enough on the ground. Deuda closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Deuda lands in his opponent's guard. Deuda must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Deuda controls the pace. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Deuda from controlling successfully. Deuda stands and steps away. Johnson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Deuda keeps the fight on the outside. Deuda tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Deuda is not content to let Johnson control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Johnson wants to stand but Deuda has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Deuda is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Deuda looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Deuda looks gassed! Deuda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Johnson stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Johnson prevents Deuda from improving his position. Deuda has hold of Johnson's hands but Johnson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Johnson trying to control from half guard but Deuda is working away. Deuda looking for submissions off his back. Johnson working Deuda over with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eves Deuda dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Johnson misses with a low kick.
Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Deuda counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Johnson's guard now. Johnson looking to control.
Johnson pulls Deuda in close to prevent any damage. Johnson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Deuda has passed into side control.
Deuda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well. Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Deuda is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Deuda's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Johnson is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson is trying to control but Deuda passes into side control!
Deuda controlling the position from side mount. Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Deuda wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Johnson sneaks back into half guard. Johnson is trying to maintain the position but Deuda is very close to passing his half guard. Johnson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Johnson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Deuda.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Deuda manages to mount him!
Johnson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Deuda can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Johnson is looking to escape. Deuda pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Deuda working away from the top, dropping strikes. Johnson tries to hold on but Deuda pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Deuda is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Deuda pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage. Johnson wants to control from the top but Deuda keeps moving. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Johnson postures up in Deuda's guard and throws a big left but Deuda blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eves Deuda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Deuda changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Deuda's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Johnson is trying to stand.
Deuda not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Deuda slows the pace down in half guard. Deuda wants to take a breather but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson tries to get to full guard but Deuda has control of the leg. Deuda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson is concentrating on defense, preventing Deuda from advancing position. Deuda takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Johnson pushes Deuda off and gets back to his feet. Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Deuda turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Deuda manages to end up in side control. Johnson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Deuda is controlling him well. Johnson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Johnson is controlling Deuda's position as best he can from this difficult position. Johnson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Johnson wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deuda tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard. Johnson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Johnson is trying to control the position but Deuda postures up. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Johnson wasn't doing enough on the ground. Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Deuda is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Deuda circles away and we're back to standing. Deuda misses with a combination
and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Deuda fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Deuda tries to land a sweep but no joy. Deuda keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Johnson cracks Deuda with a solid left hand. Johnson controlling from the top position. Johnson stands up over Deuda, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Deuda will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Johnson trying to control but Deuda is working from the bottom. Deuda thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Johnson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Deuda's guard. Johnson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Ground and pound from Johnson. Johnson works his way into full mount! Jim Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Eves Deuda is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Johnson scoring with strikes but Deuda is staying in there.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Johnson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Deuda has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
