Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlo Bertozzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zako Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons has chosen I wanna be a balla as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Carlo Bertozzi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlo Bertozzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zako Simmons!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bertozzi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Simmons bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bertozzi is on top in guard.
Simmons working a defensive guard here.
Simmons escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bertozzi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bertozzi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Simmons wants to stand but Bertozzi is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bertozzi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Simmons wants to get back to his feet but Bertozzi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bertozzi throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simmons throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Bertozzi looking to sit in guard and control but Simmons gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Simmons trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bertozzi's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Simmons throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bertozzi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bertozzi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Simmons doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Simmons manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Simmons gets to his feet - Bertozzi follows without any prompting.
Simmons misses with a wild body shot.
Bertozzi misses with a series of wild punches.
Bertozzi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simmons, pushing him back against the cage.
Simmons has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Bertozzi pulls guard.
Bertozzi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Poor strikes thrown by Bertozzi there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bertozzi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Simmons is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Simmons and Bertozzi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Bertozzi connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Simmons some visible discomfort.
Simmons gets back to half guard.
Simmons is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bertozzi pulls his head out easily.
Simmons looks gassed!
Bertozzi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Simmons looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Simmons is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bertozzi stands up from half guard.
Bertozzi shoots in looking for a takedown but Simmons manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bertozzi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bertozzi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Simmons was covering up waiting for the punch and Bertozzi finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Simmons has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Bertozzi should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Simmons has tightened it up now! Bertozzi should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
