Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Monke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Aoki might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to come as you are. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinya Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Derek Monke!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki lands a head kick. Monke smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Monke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aoki.
Monke tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Aoki swivels and escapes.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown but Monke shows good takedown defense.
Aoki gets the takedown into side control.
Monke is looking for a sweep.
Aoki tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aoki working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Aoki advances to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Monke can do anything to dispel that myth.
Aoki blocks Monke's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Monke is in all sorts of trouble here.
Aoki has control of Monke's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Monke regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Monke tries to improve his position but Aoki has taken his back! Aoki has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Monke tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Aoki pushes Monke away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Shinya Aoki!
