Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between B J Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Velcic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sherk might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to E Ala E. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, B J Sherk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Renato Velcic!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Velcic swivels and escapes.
Sherk looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Velcic gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Velcic keeping full guard, as Sherk tries to pass.
Sherk is working hard here to advance position.
Velcic thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Velcic is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sherk trying to control the position from guard on top but Velcic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sherk is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Velcic is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Sherk gets to his feet. Velcic looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Sherk closes this distance looking for a takedown but Velcic circles away.

Velcic gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Velcic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sherk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sherk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sherk feints and as Velcic raises his hands in defense, Sherk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sherk has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Velcic misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Horrible takedown by Sherk or perhaps it was just good defense by Velcic which made him look bad.

Sherk shoots in and bounces Velcic off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Velcic has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sherk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Velcic is looking to improve his position but Sherk isn't that keen on the idea.

Sherk can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Velcic is looking to escape.

Velcic is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Sherk scores with a couple of nice shots.
Velcic is staying active underneath Sherk, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sherk passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Velcic!

Sherk is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Velcic can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Velcic throws a right and a left that Sherk avoids nicely.

B J Sherk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sherk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Velcic.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
