Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Petrov's choice of entrance music: 115. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Viktor Petrov! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Diaz wants it to stay on the feet. Diaz scores with a jab. Diaz lands with a kick to the temple. Petrov shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Diaz misses with a takedown attempt and Petrov moves into the clinch. Diaz tries to pull guard but Petrov won't allow it.
Petrov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Diaz's efforts to push away. Diaz has had enough of the clinch but Petrov keeps him there for the moment. Diaz is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Petrov manages to pull guard.
Petrov keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully. Diaz looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Petrov throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Petrov controls Diaz momentarily but Diaz frees himself. Petrov looking for a guillotine here but Diaz defends easily.
Petrov wants to get back to his feet but Diaz passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Diaz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Petrov defending well though. Petrov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Diaz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Petrov's head. Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Petrov has managed to free his arm - good work. Petrov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though. Diaz trying to mount his opponent but Petrov defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Petrov is looking to control Diaz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Petrov avoid being mounted? Diaz trying to mount his opponent but Petrov defends it. Petrov wants to get back to full guard. Diaz is trying to control. Petrov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Diaz tries to keep at a distance but Petrov has taken the fight into the clinch. Diaz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Diaz throws a left and a right that both miss
and Petrov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Petrov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Petrov wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. Petrov looks gassed! Diaz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Petrov wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position. Petrov wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Diaz's closed guard. He's half up but Diaz has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Diaz pivots and extends the arm, Petrov falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Diaz! Well done that man!
