Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Felipe Caetano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trey Guarino! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab-cross combination lands for Caetano and sends Guarino crashing to the mat! Caetano follows him down to the mat - Guarino regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Guarino is rocked!
It looks like Trey Guarino has been cut. Caetano wants to get back to his feet.
Guarino is still on wobbly legs! Can Caetano finish him? Guarino looking for submissions off his back. Caetano tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Caetano wants to free his trapped foot but Guarino is holding on for dear life with his legs. Guarino seems to have recovered his senses. Guarino looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Caetano is trying to control the action in half guard but Guarino is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guarino looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Caetano tries to clinch but Guarino moves out of range. Caetano throws a right and a left that both miss. Caetano lands with a slapping head kick. Caetano clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caetano breaks the clinch.
Caetano tries a head kick but it misses.
Caetano throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Felipe Caetano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Caetano pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Caetano scores with a punch to the head. Caetano misses with a head kick.
Caetano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Caetano really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Guarino slips a jab and a cross from Caetano.
Caetano lands a jab-cross combination. Caetano tries to clinch but Guarino is having none of it. Caetano is breathing heavily. Caetano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Caetano misses with a two punch combination.
A punch combination from Caetano misses. Guarino has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Guarino drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Guarino advances to mount. Guarino is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Guarino!
