Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nester Locke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ms Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nester Locke had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nester Locke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ms Bong!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Locke does no damage.
Locke scores with a hook.
Bong throws a body punch but Locke moves out of range.
Locke throws a looping overhand right but Bong ducks down to avoid it.
A punch combination from Locke misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bong. Locke does a little dance to reset his feet.
The fighters circling - Locke throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Bong takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Bong has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Locke finds it's way round the side to connect with Bong's head.
Locke lands with a shot to the body.
Bong is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Locke.

It looks like Ms Bong has been cut.
Locke throws a nice looking combination but Bong bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Locke gets caught flat footed, as Bong shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Locke has his hands on Bong's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bong has gone for a leg lock! Locke slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bong's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Locke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Locke trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bong can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Locke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bong wants to stand but Locke is controlling the position.
Locke would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bong had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Locke defends it easily.

Locke has gone for a leg lock! Bong slips out almost immediately though and dives into Locke's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bong is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Locke is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Locke has escaped and now he's on top!

Bong is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Locke decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Bong takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Locke connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Bong swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Bong takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Locke.
Locke works Bong's body with a nice hook.
Bong lands a jab to Locke's midsection.
Locke scores with a nice right hand.
Bong shoots for a double leg takedown but Locke sprawls well. He's pushed Bong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bong with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Locke to score with a decent uppercut.
Locke scores with a jab. Bong acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Bong keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Locke.
Bong cracks a nice hook into Locke's ribs.
Bong is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Locke rather than just go for the knockout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bong.
Bong throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Bong decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Locke does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Locke is pressing down on Bong's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Locke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Locke wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Bong swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Locke counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Horrible takedown by Bong or perhaps it was just good defense by Locke which made him look bad.
Bong steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Locke.
Locke lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bong slips a straight right by Locke.
Bong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Locke's waist but Locke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bong off to one side.
Bong misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nester Locke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ms Bong.
Locke jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nice body punch from Locke.
Bong swings for the body but Locke moves out of range.
Bong tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Locke swivels and escapes.
Locke throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bong takes one to the side of the head.
Locke throws out a powerful jab.
Bong misses with a hook to the body
and Locke cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Locke fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bong on the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Locke connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bong's hands.
Locke throws a series of punches but Bong avoids them all with ease.
Locke thuds his right hand into Bong's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Locke swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Bong is breathing heavily.
Locke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bong takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Locke moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Bong is rocked!
Bong shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Locke sprawls well. Locke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bong gets slowly back to his feet.
Bong is still on wobbly legs! Can Locke finish him?

Bong seems to have recovered his senses.
Locke throws a good cross that connects.

Nester Locke is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bong takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Locke stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Locke digs a good body shot into Bong's ribs.
Locke works over Bong's head and body with a nice combination.
Bong has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
A left lands for Locke.
Bong drops his hands momentarily and Locke takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Danga de danga de dang - Locke scores with a four punch combination!
Nester Locke is winning the standup battle so far.
Good exchange - Locke coming out on top.
Locke throws a right hand that Bong ducks under and follows up with a left that Bong also avoids with ease.
Locke scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Locke lands with a good body shot.
Locke cracks Bong with a right hand to the side of the head.
Locke jabs Bong right on the nose. Bong blinks but takes it well.
Locke connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Locke pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Bong back to the cage. Locke follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Locke rushes Bong with punches - Bong moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Bong goes down! Locke follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
