Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lennon Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lennon Joe has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lennon Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wanderlei Silva!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots and misses
and Joe counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Wanderlei Silva has been cut.
Joe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Joe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that.
Joe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Joe tries to move into full mount but can't pass Silva's legs.
Joe wants to take a breather but Silva manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Joe.

Joe wants to stand but Silva has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Joe wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.

Joe has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.

and Joe counters with a head kick. That will keep Silva thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Joe manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Joe in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Joe is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Silva reverses the position - he's now on top in Joe's guard.
Joe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Joe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Silva drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Joe dives on top into guard.
