Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoel Romero Palacio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ranndy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palacio kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pride. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoel Romero Palacio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ranndy Couture!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palacio misses with a two punch combination.
Palacio looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Couture shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Palacio counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Couture has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Palacio is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Palacio wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Couture uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Couture manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Couture shoots in and gets a takedown into Palacio's guard.
Palacio keeping moving, preventing Couture from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ranndy Couture was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Couture shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Palacio as he jumps to the side.
Couture closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Palacio to the mat! Palacio manages to get full guard.
Couture preventing the sweep.
Couture drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Couture jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Couture is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Couture trying to control the position from guard on top but Palacio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Couture thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Couture throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Palacio works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Couture lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Palacio knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Couture on the ground.
Couture wants to control from the top but Palacio keeps moving.
Couture drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Palacio manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Couture has Palacio in his guard.
Palacio throws a strike but Couture rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's three minutes gone in the round.

Couture connects with a couple of short punches.
Palacio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Couture can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Palacio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Couture doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Couture manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Couture works over Palacio with some ground and pound from guard.
Couture wants to control from the top but Palacio keeps moving.

Couture trying to control but Palacio is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ranndy Couture will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Palacio misses with a double jab
and Couture decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Palacio's guard.
Couture drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Couture seems to have locked his on tight now - Palacio screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Couture, as he picks up the win!
