The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
da Silva looks to clinch
and Conway connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Gabriel da Silva has been cut.
da Silva uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Conway.

and Conway holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
da Silva has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Conway keeps control of da Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
da Silva tries to break the clinch but Conway is controlling the position.

Conway turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Conway manages to end up in side control.
Conway is looking to take a break and control but da Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

da Silva is looking for a sweep.
Conway throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Conway wants to lay and pray for a moment but da Silva keeps working.
da Silva is holding Conway down, trying to stall.
Conway wants to control but da Silva is keeping him busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
da Silva seems a little lost for a moment, as Conway dominates the positioning.
Shaun Conway has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
da Silva looks to clinch
so Conway counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Conway drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and da Silva dives on top into guard.
Conway is trying to control the position but da Silva postures up.

da Silva throws and elbow that misses. Conway uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in da Silva's guard. Nice move by Conway!

da Silva wants to stand and escape but Conway is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Conway is trying to get an arm triangle but da Silva is defending well.

and Conway holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Conway breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Conway throws an uppercut from half a mile away. da Silva sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Conway misses with a lunging right hand
and Conway takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
da Silva wants to clinch
and Conway counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Conway.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
