Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Braylon Beswicke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Doe! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doe moves to clinch but Beswicke breaks away and Beswicke counters with a straight right hand. Beswicke cracks Doe with a right hand to the side of the head. Doe fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Beswicke stuns Doe with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Beswicke thuds his right hand into Doe's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Doe gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Doe thows a body shot but no joy. A low kick from Doe misses and Beswicke counters with a left to the body. Doe thows a body shot but no joy. Doe wants to clinch and Beswicke counters with a stiff right hand. Doe misses with a left hand and Beswicke counters with an inside leg kick. Doe needs to keep his hands up - Beswicke had a free shot at his head there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Doe throws a leg kick and Beswicke counters with an outside leg kick.
Doe closes the distance but Beswicke moves to the side and Beswicke counters with a nice low kick that buckles Doe's knee momentarily. Doe looks gassed! Doe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beswicke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Doe somewhat. The fighters circle momentarily. Beswicke darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Beswicke lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beswicke connects with a solid leg kick. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Beswicke.
Beswicke throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Doe's head.
It looks like John Doe has been cut. Doe wants to clinch and Beswicke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Beswicke dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Beswicke lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Doe is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Doe takes a body punch but keeps moving. Doe on the wrong end of a nice hook. Doe is still on wobbly legs! Can Beswicke finish him? I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Beswicke has cracked Doe with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Beswicke lands another huge swinging hook and Doe tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Doe, before Beswicke can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Braylon Beswicke!
