Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mandango Sparmaqua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruki Pushki! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sparmaqua avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pushki tries to sprawl but Sparmaqua drives through with a takedown into half guard. Pushki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sparmaqua pulls his head out easily. Pushki manages to get to full guard.
Sparmaqua slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Pushki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sparmaqua defends it easily. Pushki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sparmaqua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sparmaqua trying to control the position from guard on top but Pushki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sparmaqua is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pushki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sparmaqua drops back looking for a leg! Pushki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pushki manages to kick Sparmaqua off! Sparmaqua jumps back into Pushki's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sparmaqua is pushing down on Pushki's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pushki is fighting to maintain full guard but Sparmaqua has managed to sneak the leg through. Sparmaqua is thwarting Pushki's attempts to control the position. Pushki tries to get to full guard but Sparmaqua has control of the leg. Sparmaqua is working for a kimura but Pushki is defending it quite comfortably.
Pushki looking for submissions off his back. Sparmaqua passes to side control. Sparmaqua is trying to get an arm triangle but Pushki is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pushki tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sparmaqua wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Sparmaqua is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pushki knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Pushki can't do much from the bottom here. Sparmaqua prevents Pushki from escaping the position. Sparmaqua thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pushki pushes Sparmaqua away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sparmaqua gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Sparmaqua trying to control the action but Pushki is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sparmaqua is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pushki has escaped the position, nice work there. Pushki is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sparmaqua asserts his dominance and retains side control. An elbow from Sparmaqua crashes against the mat.
Sparmaqua misses with the ground and pound. Pushki is trying to get back to his feet. Pushki is not content to let Sparmaqua control the position. Sparmaqua tries for a kimura but Pushki is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sparmaqua lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Sparmaqua wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pushki, who protects the arm well. Sparmaqua tries for a kimura but Pushki is defending well. Pushki is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Pushki looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Sparmaqua is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pushki sees it coming and defends easily. Pushki is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mandango Sparmaqua dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Pushki throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Mandango Sparmaqua has been cut. Sparmaqua ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Pushki flashes Sparmaqua a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Sparmaqua's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Sparmaqua crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Pushki punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
