Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Pazzini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georg the Caliph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pazzini's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Pazzini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Georg the Caliph!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
the Caliph checks a low kick from Pazzini.
Pazzini fails to land with a series of punches.
the Caliph closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pazzini circles away.
the Caliph works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

the Caliph looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pazzini!
the Caliph trying to control but he's not successful this time.

the Caliph goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pazzini turns into him and now he's in the Caliph's guard.
Pazzini works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pazzini seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Pazzini is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pazzini is trying to control. the Caliph wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
the Caliph trying to control but Pazzini postures up.
the Caliph wants to get back to his feet.
Pazzini throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Pazzini wants to free his trapped foot but the Caliph is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Pazzini thows a huge punch but the Caliph dodges it nicely.

Pazzini is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but the Caliph still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, the Caliph has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
the Caliph is looking to take a break and control but Pazzini is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
the Caliph advances nicely into full mount.
the Caliph can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pazzini is looking to escape.
Pazzini tries to hold on but the Caliph pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
the Caliph throws a wild left hand from mount and Pazzini manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
the Caliph throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Pazzini is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

the Caliph is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pazzini is just riding it out for now. the Caliph eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

the Caliph is trying to work for a kimura but Pazzini is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georg the Caliph dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Pazzini dives in and scores a takedown into the Caliph's guard.

Pazzini decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on the Caliph, up you get!
Pazzini drops his hands momentarily and the Caliph takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Pazzini's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Pazzini duly obliges.

the Caliph looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pazzini!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

the Caliph is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Pazzini has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Pazzini!
the Caliph manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pazzini manages to get himself to full guard.
Pazzini keeping moving, preventing the Caliph from controlling successfully.

the Caliph might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pazzini kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
the Caliph tries to free his leg and advance position but Pazzini is retaining full guard.
Pazzini is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Georg the Caliph was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Pazzini throws a quick inside leg kick.

the Caliph wants to control from the top but Pazzini keeps moving.
the Caliph wants to stand and escape but instead Pazzini has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

the Caliph trying to control the position from guard on top but Pazzini is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pazzini bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in the Caliph's guard.
Pazzini won't allow the Caliph to get back to his feet.
Pazzini seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Pazzini trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Pazzini is looking to work some ground and pound but the Caliph has wrist control.
Pazzini stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. the Caliph swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

the Caliph kicks Pazzini off and gets to his feet.
Pazzini takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
the Caliph shoots in looking for a takedown. Pazzini tries to sprawl out of it but the Caliph keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pazzini manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
the Caliph is breathing heavily.
An inside leg kick lands from Pazzini.
the Caliph shoots for a takedown but Pazzini saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
the Caliph fails with a takedown attempt.
Matt Pazzini has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Georg the Caliph.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pazzini changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pazzini lands a leg kick that knocks the Caliph off balance momentarily.
Pazzini throws a body punch but the Caliph moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Pazzini drops back looking for a leg! the Caliph is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and the Caliph manages to kick Pazzini off! Pazzini jumps back into the Caliph's guard.

the Caliph takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pazzini won't allow the Caliph to sweep him here.

Pazzini is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. the Caliph doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pazzini.
Pazzini is trying to control the action in half guard but the Caliph is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pazzini is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
the Caliph wants to get back to his feet but Pazzini is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
the Caliph manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pazzini manages to get himself to full guard.
Georg the Caliph has got the better of the ground game so far.

the Caliph stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pazzini swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Georg the Caliph wasn't active enough on the ground.
Pazzini wants to clinch up but the Caliph keeps it at a distance.
Pazzini pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
the Caliph throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pazzini's waist but Pazzini gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing the Caliph off to one side.
the Caliph looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

the Caliph shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Matt Pazzini has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Georg the Caliph.
Pazzini will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nice shot lands for Pazzini.
Pazzini throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Pazzini throws a left and a right that both miss
and the Caliph counters with a left and a right that stings Pazzini.
Pazzini throws a sloppy head kick and the Caliph moves out of range easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
