Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dirty Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randjob Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dog comes to the cage accompanied by Sharp Dressed Man. Randjob Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dirty Dog!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randjob Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dog keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dog throws out a leg kick but Gracie moves out of range and Dog only half commits.
Gracie connects with a single shot there.
Randjob Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice body punch from Gracie.
Gracie throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dog counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Dog throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie.
Dog finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Gracie walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Gracie rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dog counters with a nice leg kick.
Dog tries to score with a low kick but Gracie moves his leg out of the way.

and Dog makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dog is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gracie off and has taken his back!

Dog is not going to allow Gracie to sit and survive in this position.
Dog trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Gracie doesn't escape.
Dog has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dog is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Dog trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

We're going to have a standup here because Dirty Dog wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Dog takes one to the chin there.
Gracie throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dog counters with a nice body kick.
Gracie misses with an uppercut
and Dog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dog is looking to get back to full guard here but Gracie has managed to pass to side control instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dog rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gracie's guard! Nice work there by Dog!

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dog doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dog manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dog knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Dog from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dog wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dog not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dog gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Dog seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We're going to have a standup here because Dirty Dog wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Gracie moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dirty Dog will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dog pinned against the cage. Dog gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Gracie takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

and Dog makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Dog, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Dog against the cage but Dog circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Dog sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dirty Dog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randjob Gracie.

Dog moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Gracie stalks Dog and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dog's face. Dog staggers backwards, shaken.

Dog is looking to chop away at Gracie's legs.

and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dog really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dog motions for Gracie to come forward. Dog throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dog needs to keep his hands up - Gracie had a free shot at his head there.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dog throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it.
Dog slips a jab and a cross from Gracie.

and Dog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Gracie falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dog connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dog throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and moves out of range.

Gracie looks to land a combination but Dog avoids it well.

and Dog counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Dog loads up on a big right hand but Gracie slips the punch.
Gracie might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gracie, as that shot connected.

and Gracie counters with a straight right hand.

Dog connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Gracie throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dog counters with a good low kick that Gracie was not able to check.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dog scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Dog throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Dog lands a right hook to the body.
Dog throws a predictable looking body shot
and Gracie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gracie ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gracie.
Dog regains half guard, as Gracie was trying to land strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gracie checks a leg kick.
Dog connects with a crisp jab.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dog is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dog manages to get to full guard.

Gracie postures up in Dog's guard and throws a big left but Dog blocks it.
Gracie throws a big right hand that misses.
Dog preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gracie throws a strike but Dog rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

A close third round but Randjob Gracie just about did enough to take it.

Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dog avoids it really well and circles away.

Dog dips to his left and cracks Gracie with an uppercut!
Dog is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Gracie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dog is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gracie, into his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dog wants to stand but Gracie has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dog is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gracie is trying to control the position but Dog postures up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dirty Dog.

That's time! Dog's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dog has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Dog.

Dog wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his arm.

Gracie takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Gracie thuds his right hand into Dog's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Gracie has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Gracie connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dog. Dog circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Dog throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gracie misses the body punch
and Dog counters with a leg kick.
Gracie jabs Dog right on the nose. Dog blinks but takes it well.
A shot to the liver by Dog. Beautiful body shot.
Dog wants to slow Gracie down by chopping away at his legs.
Gracie throws a series of punches but Dog avoids them all with ease.
Dog uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dog doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Randjob Gracie.
I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
