Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Skerlik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charls Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charls Harris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Skerlik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charls Harris! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris moves into range and clinches up with Skerlik. Harris should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Harris is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Harris blocks a body shot from Skerlik. Skerlik can't find room to land a body shot as Harris controls the action.
Harris tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Harris tries to break free but Skerlik pushes him back against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Skerlik. Harris is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Harris is looking to break free of the clinch but Skerlik has double underhooks. Harris tries a knee to the head but Skerlik blocks it.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Harris has eaten all the pies! A right hook to the body lands for Harris.
Harris looks to throw an elbow but misses. Harris looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Skerlik misses with an elbow strike.
Skerlik is pushing Harris up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Skerlik blocks an elbow strike. Harris throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Skerlik unloads a knee to the mid-section. Harris is trying to break free. Harris looking to slow down the pace here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris successfully pulls guard.
Harris controls Skerlik momentarily but Skerlik frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Skerlik in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Harris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Skerlik landing with the ground and pound. Skerlik advances to half guard. Skerlik will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Nice strikes from Skerlik there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Skerlik is keen to just control but Harris is a slippery customer. Skerlik wants to pass to mount but Harris is defending the position. Harris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Skerlik is working away from the top position though. Skerlik thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harris's head. Skerlik passes to side control. Harris looks gassed! Skerlik is trying to get an arm triangle but Harris is defending well. Skerlik lands a nice forearm strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skerlik working the ground and pound. Skerlik connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Harris some visible discomfort.
Sloppy strikes there by Skerlik. Skerlik is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harris is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Harris is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Skerlik tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Skerlik has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Skerlik is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Harris knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. This has been an exciting period of action! Skerlik advances to full mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Skerlik avoids the attempt from Harris to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Skerlik dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Horrible takedown by Skerlik or perhaps it was just good defense by Harris which made him look bad. A right-left combo lands from Harris. Harris throws a combination that misses and Skerlik counters with a nice double leg into side control. Harris won't be happy with that. Skerlik in side control, just content to control the action for now. Skerlik is looking to take a break and control but Harris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Skerlik looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris defending against the ground and pound. Skerlik wants to control but Harris is keeping him busy. Harris tries to bench press Skerlik off him but Skerlik keeps the position. Nick Skerlik overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Harris is breathing heavily. A lull in the action here as Skerlik stalls from top position. Skerlik works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Skerlik is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Harris has escaped the position, nice work there. Skerlik working the ground and pound from side control. Harris sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Skerlik drops an elbow to the side of Harris's head. Skerlik is trying to control the action in half guard but Harris is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skerlik is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Skerlik is thwarting Harris's attempts to control the position. Skerlik is working for a submission of some sort.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Skerlik works his way into side control. Harris taking a bit of punishment here - Skerlik scoring with strikes. Harris is not content to let Skerlik control the position. Harris takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Skerlik dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Skerlik shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Skerlik is looking to advance position but Harris won't allow it. Skerlik has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Harris defend it? Skerlik steps over the head and cranks it - Harris is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Skerlik!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Skerlik!
