Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hansa Rachstakk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Blair! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rachstakk. Rachstakk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rachstakk showed some decent athleticism there. Rachstakk works his foot free and advances to mount. Blair holds of for dear life. Blair is trying desperately to improve position. Blair is squirming around, avoiding Rachstakk's attempts to control the action. Rachstakk working for a submission but Blair is keeping him at bay.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blair working to try and regain half guard.
Rachstakk goes for an armbar but Blair turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Blair. Blair slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Rachstakk is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Rachstakk looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blair is one step ahead there. Rachstakk has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Blair is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rachstakk.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blair decides to stand back up. Blair steps back and let's Rachstakk get back to his feet. Rachstakk on the wrong end of a nice hook. Blair stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Blair wants it to stay on the feet. Blair fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rachstakk looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Blair misses with an uppercut. Rachstakk takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Rachstakk takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Rachstakk changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blair tries to avoid it but Rachstakk manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blair to the ground. Blair escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hansa Rachstakk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rachstakk is breathing heavily. Rachstakk tries for a takedown but Blair sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Decent striking displayed by Blair there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blair lands a nice hook to Rachstakk's body. Rachstakk takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Blair lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Blair clobbers Rachstakk with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Rachstakk takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Blair dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Blair goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Blair has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Blair throws out a powerful jab. Blair stalks Rachstakk and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rachstakk's face. Rachstakk staggers backwards, shaken. Jimmy Blair is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rachstakk takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rachstakk is rocked! Blair misses with a head kick.
Oh Rachstakk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Blair! Rachstakk is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
