PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hodger Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine has chosen Pantera - I'm Broken as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Hodger Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Remy Valentine! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valentine is looking to chop away at Gracie's legs. Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Valentine as he avoids it easily. A lazy left from Valentine finds it's target.
It looks like Hodger Gracie has been cut. Valentine digs a good hook to Gracie's body.
Gracie needs to keep his hands up - Valentine had a free shot at his head there. The fighters circle momentarily. Valentine darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Gracie blocks a leg kick. Valentine looks to clinch and Gracie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Valentine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Valentine looking for a sweep. Not yet Valentine, not yet. Gracie advances position into side control! Valentine manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gracie's best efforts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Valentine! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Valentine can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Gracie with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Valentine keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gracie wants to control the pace but Valentine is squirming around nicely. Valentine really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Valentine working to try and regain half guard.
Valentine has given up his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valentine is really stuck here.
Gracie has the hooks in. Valentine is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Gracie passes his arm under Valentine's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Valentine taps!
