Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Rickson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with a lunging right hand
letting Rickson counter with a right hand.
Rickson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rickson off to one side.
Jackson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Jackson misses with an uppercut

and Rickson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rickson.
Jackson lands a shoulder strike.
Rickson jumps guard but Jackson stands there with Rickson around his waist. Rickson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rickson is trying to break the clinch but Jackson has him pressed against the cage.
Jackson is looking to break free of the clinch but Rickson has double underhooks.

Rickson breaks the clinch.
Rickson ducks under a wild hook from Jackson.
Jackson misses with a straight right.
Jackson misses with a lunging right hand

and Rickson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Well, if Rickson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Rickson is keen to just control but Jackson is a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Rickson seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jeff Rickson.
Rickson shoots in and drives through. Jackson sprawls well.
Chris Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Rickson.
Jackson throws a poor cross that misses

and Rickson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Rickson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Rickson tries to stand and escape but Jackson actually recovers to full guard.
Jackson keeping moving, preventing Rickson from controlling successfully.

Rickson wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Jackson's closed guard. He's half up but Jackson has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Jackson pivots and extends the arm, Rickson falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Jackson! Well done that man!
