Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Maslov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Maslov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rio Rua! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maslov shoots in and bounces Rua off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Maslov showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Maslov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rua's guard. Still in half guard, Maslov seems content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maslov thows a huge punch but Rua dodges it nicely.
Rua won't allow Maslov to pass to mount. Maslov is thwarting Rua's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Maslov is staying active. Rua is looking to improve his position.
Maslov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rua keeps working.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Maslov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rua looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rua can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua is trying to get back to his feet. Maslov scores with punches from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maslov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Rua tries to improve position but can't. Rua can't do much from the bottom here. Rua tries to buck Maslov off but Maslov is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maslov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rua is not content to let Maslov control the position. Rua tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Rua tries to get back to half guard but can't. Maslov is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rua can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rua wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Rua is having to fend off submission attempts from Maslov, who is looking to sink in the choke. Maslov doesn't have the hooks in though and Rua manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Maslov is breathing heavily. Maslov keeping moving, preventing Rua from controlling successfully. Rua trying to stand up but can't free himself from Maslov's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Maslov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rua with a poor takedown and Maslov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rua won't be happy with that. Rua is looking to reverse the position. Rua gets back to half guard. Rua trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Maslov manages to pass to mount!
Rua keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Maslov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Maslov takes Rua's back.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Maslov's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Rua trying to control the hands but Maslov won't let him. Rua rolls, trying to escape but Maslov keeps control of the position.
Maslov looking for the choke but no joy. Rua tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maslov takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Maslov sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Rua taps out!
