Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Renton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Ghita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mark Renton has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mark Renton seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Ghita misses
enabling Renton to counter with a crisp jab.
Ghita falls off balance throwing a combination
and Renton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Renton avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ghita throws a head kick but Renton moves out of range.

Ghita throws a head kick that misses
and Renton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ghita throws a lazy head kick
letting Renton counter with a right hand.
Ghita throws a sloppy head kick and Renton moves out of range easily.
Sloppy strikes from Ghita. Those never looked like landing.
David Ghita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ghita throws a sloppy head kick and Renton moves out of range easily.
Ghita pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Ghita tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ghita misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Renton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Renton controls the position.
Ghita really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Renton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Renton's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Renton has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ghita is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Renton yanks on the arm and Ghita is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Renton.
