Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Philip Jarden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Emelianov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarden's entrance music is Born To Be Wild. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Philip Jarden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roman Emelianov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jarden sprawls well initially but Emelianov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jarden looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Emelianov controlling the pace.
Emelianov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Jarden wants to get back to his feet.
Emelianov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Emelianov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Roman Emelianov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Emelianov shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jarden manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Roman Emelianov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Emelianov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jarden did well to prevent Emelianov getting side control.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
It looks like Emelianov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Emelianov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jarden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emelianov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jarden can't fight it off and eventually Emelianov manages to take the fight to the floor. Jarden looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jarden wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Emelianov manages to pass to side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Emelianov connects with a nice short shot to Jarden's temple.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Let's hope that Emelianov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Jarden clinches up with Emelianov and pushes him back against the cage.
Jarden jumps guard but Emelianov stands there with Jarden around his waist. Jarden gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Emelianov has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jarden regains guard immediately.
Emelianov's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Jarden gets caught flat footed, as Emelianov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Emelianov controls from within his opponent's guard.

Jarden manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Emelianov feints and as Jarden raises his hands in defense, Emelianov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jarden wants to stand but Emelianov is controlling the position.
Jarden manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Emelianov is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Jarden is landing with some decent strikes but Emelianov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Emelianov is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Emelianov tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Emelianov tries to hold on but Jarden pushes him away.
Jarden lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Emelianov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Jarden thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Emelianov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Jarden is pulling down on Emelianov's head. It's preventing any offense from Emelianov, at least for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Emelianov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Emelianov lands in his opponent's guard.

Roman Emelianov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Emelianov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
