The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Overeem is predictable there
and Red counters with a stiff right hand.
Overeem misses with a combination
and Red connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Overeem misses with a two punch combination.
Red lands a jab to the head.
Overeem swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Red cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Overeem tries to break free but Red pushes him back against the cage.
Overeem is trying to break the clinch but Red is controlling him.

Overeem pushes off an throws an elbow but Red leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Red throws a strike aimed at the side of Overeem's head but Overeem avoids it well.

Red is trying to get an arm triangle but Overeem is defending well.
Overeem is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Red asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Overeem is in a horrible position here. Red smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Overeem is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Red takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Red ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Overeem's jaw. Overeem's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Red does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
